Short NotebookLM Audio
The six-minute version.
This shorter podcast is the one to play inline. It is loose, funny, and very much not a substitute for reading the actual work.
This is not a scientific post. It is not a claim, a proof, a peer review, or even a sober interpretation. It is a relaxed report from an intentional NotebookLM experiment. I gave the system Causality & Attraction Volumes 1-5, Nothing Is All You Need, Nested Causal Modelling 1.0, the RTLDI Atlas materials, and Dostoevsky’s The Idiot, a similar volume of text, to see what would happen.
The NotebookLM systems did not ignore the novel. That does not make the output scientific, but it does mean the model found relevance in the source set. Investigating that relevance was entertaining in exactly the right way.
The machine noticed a parallel between the Zero Infinity, 0∞, and Prince Myshkin: the quiet reference state, the one thing in the room that does not defend itself, calculate for advantage, or try to dominate the enclosure.
This is not how literary criticism is usually done. It is also not how quantum physics is usually done. That is part of the charm. The question became: is Sid an idiot, or are we? My considered position is that this question should not be examined too closely. Vanity is already doing enough work here.
But the comparison is priceless. In Dostoevsky, the idiot is not useless because he fails to calculate. He is dangerous because his refusal to calculate exposes the machinery around him. In my own framework, 0∞ is not
